Australian business telecommunications provider, Highway 1 has reportedly launched its national multi-protocol label switching based internet protocol – virtual private network or IP-VPN network.
Built on Cisco (News - Alert) technology, the new service allows for faster and more efficient inter-office data delivery to be utilized by all business, enterprise and government customers, officials said.
Highway 1’s MPLS solution delivers digital subscriber line and Ethernet access technology via copper and fiber optic wired, microwave wireless and 3G wireless access technologies.
Highway 1 can also deliver Layer 2 and 3, point-to-point or point-to-multipoint, Gigabit capable domestic wireless area networks across major and rural locations in Australia.
Nicholas Power, general manager of Highway 1, said, “We are very excited about the recent deployment of our MPLS network. We have worked very hard to determine exactly what Australia's market is looking for and geared our Private network offering towards a solution that offers the highest levels of security, reliability and cost effectiveness whilst using the latest available technology.”
A part of the ZettaServe group of companies, Highway 1 is a business telecommunications specialist providing voice and data services throughout Australia. Highway 1's services include wired, wireless and high speed optical fiber solutions for the small to medium size enterprise business markets.
Highway 1 has network presence reaching Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Auckland, Singapore and New York. Their transit providers include Optus Wholesale, NextGen, Verizon (News - Alert), VSNL, PIPE Networks and WAIX.
