SDConnect™ - A Revolutionary Software Framework From ACKme Networks Designed to Bring Secure and Private Device Management to Products Used in the "Internet-of-Things"

LOS GATOS, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

SDConnect™ is a revolutionary and secure software framework designed to simplify the design of products for the ever growing market that has become known as the "Internet of Things". The software framework is designed to offer a vastly improved time-to-market which is critical for companies needing to compete in today's fast moving environment. The SDConnect™ portfolio moves the benchmark by which IoT product design is measured.

SDConnect™ allows product designers to move from the traditional single sale business model to connected devices that can harness rich content on the Internet and allow for repeat or recursive business models boosting both sales and customer loyalty. It allows for remote diagnostics and software updates to dramatically reduce warranty costs. In addition, SDConnect™ allows for product managers to see anonymous field generated data based on real user behavioral models to drive future product decisions.

SDConnect™ provides design engineers with a rich set of device management features and functionality incuding secure device authentication & authorization, secure over-the-air software update(s) - OTA, secure remote diagnostics, and secure and private remote metrics, these and many other features are attainable through the simple and easy to use SDCommand Set™ API.

The simple interface of SDConnect™ allows for the ability to automatically run scripts, start & stop network services, provide remote terminal access, run a web server for setup and provisioning, cache local measurement data and application configurable files.

The SDConnect™ software is provided in select wireless modules from ACKme Networks as well as a separate license to fit different business needs. The software framework is designed to be modular in its approach allowing for an 'al a carte' implementation depending on individual requirements. Numerous physical layers are support with SDConnect version including WiConnect™ for Wi-Fi, and TruConnect™ for Bluetooth Low Energy (Bluetooth SMART).

WiConnect™ 2.0, released today, provides higher throughput and greater streaming mode support and is the Wi-Fi version in the SDConnect™ portfolio. Additional features of WiConnect™ 2.0 over its predecessor include a UDP (News - Alert) and TLS server that provides a secure extension to the existing TCP server functionality. File management is improved with the ability to exchange files directly with online HTTP servers. The onboard file system allows designers to also use various configurations that can be saved as named files and reloaded when needed.
