Australia : EPIC PHARMACY invests $1.5M in AUSTRALIAN software company [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The pharmacy services firm Epic Pharmacy (earlier called APHS) has invested $1.5 million in Sydney-based software company Flamingo to develop a healthcare technology platform targeted initially at health insurers and hospitals.

Epic Pharmacy is popular for its pharmaceutical packaging subsidiary APHS Packaging, which provides aged care facilities with medication sachets, makes dose administration aids (DAA) for community pharmacies and distributes the Medido monitored compliance device.

Flamingo is a Catriona Wallace-led start-up company that operates in the customer relationship management (CRM) and vendor relationship management (VRM) fields. It has created a 'co-creation', analytics and personal cloud solution that seeks to enable businesses to jointly create solutions with individual customers to personalise how they communicate and interact.

The company will use the money to create customer-focused healthcare solutions initially with healthcare insurers, and then with any healthcare service provider from hospitals to aged care facilities.

Dr Wallace stated : "Customised healthcare is of growing interest and concern to the majority of Australians. With this new funding, Australians for the first time will be able to co-create a personalised experience with a health service provider to meet their own individual requirements, beyond just the product."
