New Zealand : NEW Zealand software maker launches U.S. headquarters in Austin [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) A New Zealand software maker has launched a U.S. headquarters in Austin with strategy to take up at least 80 workers within 2 years.

CEO Jason Westland said that Project Manager Online Ltd. finished a $3.5 million Series A round of funding in July and intends to use the capital to build a marketing and customer service office in the United States, home to 56 percent of its customers.



Project Manager, established in 2008, is considering locations in the Arboretum area and near Far West Boulevard. It's in addition recruiting vice presidents to flesh out its local executive team and Westland said that he expects to eventually hire 80 to 100 local workers within 2 years.

Project Manager develops project management software that offers real-time updates on whether a project is on track. Competitors comprise Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) and Austin-based Planview Inc.


Westland said that the company employs 25 workers in New Zealand and could relocate its global headquarters to Austin if growth plans pan out. Before Project Manager, Westland was the general manager of Designer Technology Ltd., a New Zealand company that marketed software development and network services.

Previous week, another New Zealand company, PowerbyProxi Ltd., disclosed intentions to open a U.S. headquarters in Austin to be closer to its customers. The company, a developer of wireless power technology, is considering an secret location for a customer support office in Northwest Austin near the intersection of Loop 360 and FM 2222.
