Australia : LGAQ upgrades CRM system, rolls out document management software [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) As part of a customer-focused technology refresh, The Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAG) is currently improving its CRM system and introducing document management software.

LGAQ is a top body for local government in the state and counts 77 local councils as its members.

LGAQ's manager for internal business development, Jake Boyle, says its origins go back even further, although the existing technology refresh results from an 18-month process.

Queensland's local government underwent a process of amalgamation in 2009, cutting the number of councils from 150 down to, at the time, 73.

LGAQ took the chance to assess its organisational structure and the way it engaged with councils.

Boyle said : "Traditionally we'd provided products and services and then gone out to members and looked for ways we could apply them. We've pretty much turned that on its head and decided to look at what our members needed and then found products and services to meet those needs. It was just a subtle change, but quite revolutionary internally." (c) 2014 Euclid Infotech Pvt. Ltd. Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc. (Syndigate.info).
