BUYINS.NET: Market Maker Surveillance Report. TASR, IMMU, PAY, PATK, SYNC, GFI, Losing Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Thursday, February 21st 2013

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 4014 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1704 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3708 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. TASER International Inc (NASDAQ:TASR), Immunomedics Inc (NASDAQ:IMMU), VeriFone Systems Inc (NYSE:PAY), Patrick Industries Inc (NASDAQ:PATK), Synacor Inc (NASDAQ:SYNC), Gold Fields Ltd (NYSE:GFI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below: Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction TASR $-1.230 -14.32% 1,965,141 46.23% 2,252,297 52.98% -287,156 -2,335 IMMU $-0.450 -16.07% 49,123 25.85% 140,895 74.15% -91,772 -2,039 PAY $-13.660 -42.83% 14,967,641 30.35% 16,136,830 32.72% -1,169,189 -856 PATK $-2.310 -16.70% 384,116 49.49% 388,028 49.99% -3,912 -17 SYNC $-1.850 -38.22% 2,029,954 43.07% 2,678,691 56.83% -648,737 -3,507 GFI $-1.540 -14.94% 2,141,838 23.54% 2,986,515 32.83% -844,677 -5,485 Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows TASR with a dollar loss Thursday of $-1.23000 and a Friction Factor of -2,335 shares. That means that it only took 2,335 more shares of selling than buying to move TASR lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
