FutureSentry Inks Strategic Pact with Mi5 Security

Dec 03, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- FutureSentry, a developer of automated detection solutions designed for proactive security, announced it has entered into a strategic agreement with Mi5 Security, a provider of wireless outdoor surveillance cameras and cloud-based management services, to jointly develop a solar-powered, wireless automated detection system designed for areas where there is no or limited infrastructure.

According to a release, the combined solution is optimized to filter out false alarms and enable reliable situational monitoring in any outdoor location.

The partnership between the companies will result in a joint solution that will combine Mi5 Security's remote surveillance technologies with the FutureSentry First Responder. The First Responder is an automated detection solution that utilizes algorithms to automatically identify and track potentially dangerous targets within 700 feet. It illuminates detected motion with a high-intensity LED light to deter potential criminal behavior. The Mi5 Redeye camera is a wireless, low maintenance camera that can be installed anywhere. RedEye communicates with Mi5's cloud-based management system, which optimizes the transmission of video over cellular networks, to provide low cost and efficient communication to remote devices. Alerts and footage are immediately available online and securely accessed via a smart phone or any network device, the companies said.

"The market demands an integrated, cost-effective solution for securing and monitoring remote and exposed locations. By offering this technology-based solution and service to the market, we can fulfill this market need," said Helen Wattie, Chief Executive Officer, Mi5 Security. "Mi5 technologies combined with the First Responder deliver a comprehensive and proactive security solution that promises to redefine the market need for perimeter security." As part of the agreement, FutureSentry added that it will work closely with Mi5 to develop firmware and hardware modifications to its First Responder platform, synchronizing the two units for maximum efficiency. FutureSentry plans to offer the combined security solution to its current integrator and reseller partners and the Mi5 sales team will deliver FutureSentry opportunities in the Australian and New Zealand markets.

"We look forward to working alongside Mi5 Security as a strategic business partner. The company's technical expertise and vision was a key driver in its selection both as a strategic partner and as an early adopter to further test and validate our technology," said Rolland Trayte, President and CEO, FutureSentry. "FutureSentry's award-winning innovations combined with Mi5's surveillance camera produces a crime-deterring and remote monitoring solution that delivers proactive and reactive security in countless applications.
