Conroy to set floor price on $4bn wireless auction

Australian Communications Minister Stephen Conroy has intervened in the auction of wireless spectrum. The auction is expected to bring up to $A4 billion in revenue, which will be vital in returning the Budget to surplus. There is concern that Vodafone may not participate in the auction, which could lower the prices paid. Conroy has used his ministerial powers to set reserve prices for the spectrum.
